Kalevipoja Koda

The story of the national epic’s hero, Kalevipoeg, deserves to be discovered, and there’s no better place to do that than Kalevipoja Koda in Jõgeva County. The Kalevipoja Museum was thoroughly renovated for 2020, and here you can experience the giant hero’s adventures through interactive exhibits, games, films and other exciting activities. In addition, visitors can enjoy the Kalevipoja playground and an adventure park. Kalevipoja Koda is located in the village of Kääpa — this is the area where the epic hero made his plough furrows. Kääpa is in Mustvee parish, 35 km from Tartu, 36 km from Jõgeva and 21 km from Mustvee. The museum is open year‑round: 1 June–31 August every day 11:00–18:00, and 1 September–31 May Wed–Sun 10:00–17:00. We serve groups by appointment 7 days a week. We are usually closed on national holidays, but occasionally make exceptions. The adventure park is open from June through August every day 11:00–18:00, and at other times by appointment.
