University of Tartu Museum / Tartu Observatory

Located on Toomemägi, the University of Tartu Museum and Tartu Observatory form a unique historical ensemble where science, cultural heritage and a special atmosphere create an inspiring setting for a variety of events. The University of Tartu Museum is housed in a former library and an old church, which give it a distinctive atmosphere as a venue. The museum’s White Hall is a space where very different events find the right format. The spacious room, special ambience and flexible possibilities make it suitable for both formal celebrations and meaningful meetings. Tartu Observatory was once one of the world’s most important centres of astronomy. The observatory also contains a point of the Struve Geodetic Arc, which has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2005. The observatory’s rooms are well suited for smaller gatherings such as birthday parties, receptions and seminars. University of Tartu Museum: Lossi 25, Tartu Tartu Observatory: Uppsala 8, Tartu
