For a one-day training, keep the drive under an hour so the day isn't spent on the road. For a strategy day or two-day seminar you can go further, since an overnight stay makes up for the journey.

A lecture needs a long room and a good screen; a workshop needs movable tables and wall space. If some people join online, choose a room with a camera and sound already in place.
Plan the rhythm of the day
A longer training needs at least two breaks and lunch. At a manor or retreat, breaks can include a walk, a sauna or dinner, which makes the trip more than just a different room.
